How to Set Up an RFID Hotel Lock System from Scratch

What You Will Need
- RFID hotel lock set (lock body, exterior handle, interior handle, mortise, escutcheon)
- Hotel management software (supplied on USB or downloadable) + encoder unit
- Windows PC or laptop for software installation
- Chisel set, drill, hole saw (25 mm and 54 mm), screwdrivers
- 4× AA batteries per lock
Step 1: Prepare the Door
Use the paper template (included in the lock box) to mark the positions of the latch hole, deadbolt hole, and handle bore holes on the door edge and face. Use a 25 mm spade bit for the latch hole on the door edge and a 54 mm hole saw for the handle bore holes on the door face. Chisel the mortise recess to the depth specified in the template.
Step 2: Fit the Mortise Lock Body
Insert the mortise lock body into the door edge. Secure it with the two supplied screws. Fit the faceplate over the mortise edge and mark, then chisel, the faceplate recess so it sits flush with the door edge.
Step 3: Install the Electronic Lock Cylinder
Feed the wiring harness from the exterior handle through the 54 mm bore hole. Connect the harness to the lock body's wiring connector according to the colour diagram in the manual. Align the tailpiece of the exterior handle with the drive cam of the mortise, then fit the interior handle and secure with the through-bolts. Insert batteries into the battery tray in the interior handle.
Step 4: Install the Management Software
Insert the encoder USB and run the software installer. During setup, enter the hotel name and choose a system password. The software will create the hotel's master key profile. Print or record the system password — it cannot be recovered if lost.
